There are a number of different ways in which I have tried to attract/ address my audience, for example I have used some of the conventions that are related to Pop music, for example in my magazine I have styled the model to give the appearance of a young fun casual pop artist though out the pictures I have used on the cover, contents and double page spread.
Throuhout the magazine, I have used the theme of Andy Warhol's Pop art, I think that this has made the pages look more colourful and interesting for the reader to look at and if some of the readers don't like pop music, by using elements of Andy Warhol and any other well known artists could get more readers to buy the magazine.
The magazines that are current out there that are similar to mine are magazines like V Magazine, Rolling Stone and i-D. Although most of those were fashion magaiznes, I have used the style of them to create mine, for example with V Magaizne they are usually very fashion forward, they have had different people featured on the front cover like Brad Pitt to Beyonce and Lady Gaga. So even though it is a fashion magaizne, depending on who is going to be featured in the magazine, it would determine what the subject of the article would be about. For example if Brad Pitt were to come out with a new film and he was promoting it in his article in teh magazine, that wouldn't nesscessary make the magazine a film magaine. But if Lady Gaga were to be featured again in the magazine, it would probably most likely for the article to be talking about her music. So I have taken this approach to my magazine, even though it pop based, I can incorporate other bands from other genres like King's Of Leon with a Pop artist like Rihanna in the same issue and have a photoshoot of them together. So this would be attracting other audiences who would normally buy magazines with King's Of Leon in it therefore creating more revenue.
So I think that my magazines's unique selling point is that its quite versatile and can attract a range od audiences, for example it would attract people who are really big fans of an artiste, and then it would attract people who just like Pop music and then it could attract the fans of the person featured on the front cover.
The photos that are in my magazine have been put there for a reason, for example with the front cover I wanted the model on the front to give the audience a sort of cheeky look so audience would want to open the magazine and see what it is all about. I would think that by using a female model, this would have more chances of getting more people to like my magazine, because if I were to put a boy on the cover someone looking like Justin Bieber, boys would normally not like that.
